North Kansas City,Missouri: This past Saturday June 28th marked the first time the Midwest Titans and the Quad City Wolfpack to ever play each other. This game was tagged as the MFA "Game Of The Week” heading into week 6 of league play. The Quad City Wolfpack won the low scoring but hard-hitting battle with a final score of 26-15 and also snapped the Midwest Titans undefeated  winning streak in Illinois.  The Titans made the 6 hour trip to Quad City with only 31 players.  Head Coach Webb stated; "traveling with light numbers is no reason why we gave up 26 points. We simply didn’t put together 4 quarters of football! We also didn’t wake-up and start playing our Style of Football until the start of the  4th quarter.”  After trailing 14-0 midway through the 2nd quarter; Starting QB Eric Hoskins (Missouri Western University) found Starting WR Joshua Johnson in the corner of the end zone for a 17 yard TD pass that split both Wolfpack Defenders. The extra point was good  by kicker Chris Bender (Minnesota Central College).  Trailing 20-7 at the start of the 4th quarter; the Titans Offense got things rolling when Starting QB Eric Hoskins  found Starting WR Trey Spann (Winnetonka High) for a nice 31 yard TD pass. The extra point by kicker Chris Bender (Minnesota Central College) was blocked and the Titans still trailed 20-13. On the Wolfpack next two offensive drives;  the Titans "Orange Crush” Defense showed-up and showed out! The defense of the Titans forced the Wolfpack to a 3 and out on their next two drives and then forced a safety to bring the score to 20-15 with 5:38 left in the 4th quarter. After the Wolfpack kicked off due to giving up the safety; the Titans put together a nice 6 play 53 yard drive to set them up inside the Wolfpack 10 yard line. On  3rd down and goal; QB Eric Hoskins found WR Joshua Johnson again in the corner of the end zone but this time the TD pass was waved off and on 4th down the next pass to starting RB Jay Robinson (Missouri Western University) was incomplete.  Robinson; finished his night with 102 yards rushing on 12 attempts. The Titans "Orange Crush” Defense came up big again and gave the offense one more chance with less than 2:00 minutes left the game. This time the Wolfpack Defense  came up with an interception  for a TD and the game ended with a Wolfpack 26-15 victory.  Head Coach Webb stated: "It really was a valid effort  to almost mount a comeback win but we came up 11 points short.  I’m extremely proud of my guys for going out there and  battling for 4 completed quarters.”  With a solid performance by the Titans "Orange Crush" Defense who did shutout the Wolfpack offense the entire 2nd half with no points allowed. On three different drives the Titans defense stopped the Wolfpack offense from scoring  inside the red zone.  Backup DB Joshua Johnson (West Virginia State University) made what the coaching  staff of the Titans is calling the play of the game when he jumped in front of the WR for the interception and returned it to the Wolpack 8 yard line.. Other notable standout performances by the Titans defense was Starting  DT Ralph Bradley (Highland College), Starting SS Ramon Vaden (Blue Springs High) and starting LB Kalif Barnes (Grandview High).  The Midwest Titans will now gear up for their 2nd regular season home game vs the Heartland Falcons Saturday Evening July 19, 2014. Kickoff is set for 6:15pm and gates open at 3:45pm!  ” We will  get the mistakes corrected over the next two weeks;” said Titans Defensive Coordinator Butch Powell. Titan Fans, Supporters, family and friendsplease wear as much White and Orange to show support for your Midwest "Mighty" Titans Saturday July 19, 2014 at North Kansas City High District Stadium home of the Midwest Titans!  More information on Titans vs Falcons game day agenda coming soon!
